Alpha

If you are new to faith, exploring faith or have questions, we have a great way for you to learn and ask. Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting.

People enjoy great food, laughter, and learning in a fun and friendly atmosphere where no question about life and God is seen as too simple or too hostile… questions like – Is there a God? Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going?

Alpha at St Alphonsus (11828- 85 St) will run for eleven weeks, beginning on Wednesday, April 24th, 2019. Each evening goes from 6:30-8:30pm, beginning with a meal, followed by a video and discussion.  For more information about Alpha, check out Invitation to Alpha

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha is for anyone who’s curious. The talks are designed to encourage conversation and explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly, open environment. No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you want.

How does Alpha work?

Alpha is 11 sessions with a weekend away in the middle. Each session includes a meal, a short talk and discussion where you can share your thoughts and ask questions. There’s no pressure, no follow up and no charge.

Can I try it without doing the whole course?

Absolutely. We aim to create a welcoming environment with absolutely no pressure. So, if you don’t feel the course is for you, no worries.

What will it cost?

Alpha is completely free. We ask for a contribution towards the cost of food if you’re able, but there’s no pressure.

If you have questions, feel free to contact William at  st.als.alpha@gmail.com, or Rose through St. Alphonsus Parish Office.
